Hippity Hoppity On Over Here!

Because this is just the cutest idea...
and it was soooo
EASY!

1. Find a pretty Vintage plate

These will do!

2. Print out some bunny silhouettes
and cut them out
with a handy dandy exact-o knife!

3. Plop that adorable bunny on your plate
and position it where you need it

4. Trace that beautiful bunny
on your plate with a pencil....

Ta da!!!

5. Fill that bunny in with either
some black ceramic paint
(or another color!)

or use a Sharpie Oil marker
(we used gloss in both...the sharpie was definitely easier to apply...
but the marker won't go as far as the paint....just saying!)

6. Let it dry....and put that
seriously cute bunny plate in a special spot
 that you'll see every day

(it will make you extremely happy...we promise!)

WARNING!!!
These are
so darn cute
and will
MULTIPLY quickly.....

You just won't be able to stop making them ~ lol!!!

Join us today as we try a new blog party today...

Then let's Hop on over to Elephants & Ivy for
and let's see what blooming about for SPRING why don't we?!!

Have a Happy Day Everyone!

An Easter Tradition

Grandma's Easter Lamb Cake....

It was the most exciting day when she'd pack up
her freshly made lamb cake and bring them over to our house!

Mom would take the cake and put it on our stereo...
and there it would be for us to peek at!
Around the lamb would be an assortment of candy
thankfully we didn't have to wait long...
we were allowed to sneak a piece here and there,
but we'd have to wait to eat the cake on Easter day.

For the past few years we have continued the tradition
and thought we'd share it with you this year!

Cream Cheese Pound Cake
3/4 pound (3 sticks) butter, no substitutes, softened
1 (8-ounce) cream cheese, softened
3 cups sugar
6 eggs, at room temperature
3 cups sifted cake flour
1 1/2 tablespoons vanilla

Heat oven to 325 degrees.
Coat your lamb mold with oil or shortening.
In a large bowl, cream together butter, cream cheese and sugar
until smooth and fluffy.  Add eggs one at a time,
beating well after each addition.
Add flour a little at a time, beating until smooth.
Add the vanilla and blend.

Pour batter into prepared pans and bake for 1 hour-1-1/2 hours
or until toothpick inserted near the center of the cake comes out clean.

Cool on wire rack for 20 minutes.  Invert and let cool completely.

Cream Cheese Frosting

1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
1 (8-ounce) cream cheese, softened
2 teaspoons vanilla
4 cups confectioners' sugar, plus more if needed

In a large bowl, cream the butter and cream cheese until light and fluffy.
Beat in the vanilla.  Add the confectioners' sugar and beat until well combined.  You may need to add more confectioner's sugar to achieve the right consistency.

Assemble the two sides of the lamb cake together and "glue" with frosting.
Frost the outside of the cake then gently put coconut over frosting.
Decorate the lamb with black jelly beans for the eyes and a red or pink for the mouth.  Grandma always tied a blue ribbon with a jingle bell around the lambs neck.

Then add some green food coloring to some coconut
to make your grass to put around the lamb.
We then put jelly beans around...grandma always had some
Reese's peanut butter cups around there as well....
and one by one they would disappear before Easter morning!

Enjoy your Easter Everyone...
wishing you a blessed day!!

Time to Plant Your Baskets!!

We opened our email this morning to this picture from Terrain.
Isn't it the most gorgeous Easter Basket?!!
*sigh*

It reminded us that we needed to plant the grass
in the kiddo's Easter baskets....

Basket

Soil
check!

Wheatgrass....
Wheatgrass all over the floor

check!
{I might add that kids are not helping with this project at the moment!!}

Into the baskets
check!

We added a bow on this basket.....
but you can do what you like!

Just water & watch your Easter grass
grow!
oh.....and back to this....

Now that we're done with the kiddo's baskets ~ we're so going to make this!
We're going to plant the grass
then add some spring bulbs that haven't bloomed yet....

{digging them up from outside!}

then....in two weeks,
 when the grass has grown,
we'll add the nest, eggs & birds

You've got to love Spring!

Here a Peep, There a Peep....Everywhere a Peep Peep!

How could you not love these new little chicks!

In the most adorable pastel colors...

ready to bring a smile to your faces

Pick me!  Pick me!!

Thank you ladies!

Our PEEPS
made us think of these Peeps.....

So we got quite a few colors,
separated them and let them air dry a bit before using them
 {prevents the stickies you know!}

Then we just grabbed some of our glass containers in the store
and layered in the peeps....

Something different, other than jelly beans!
{we have a few left that we just might string in a garland to hang!}

It makes for a fun & colorful display
so think PEEPS for Easter darlings.....

Go ahead and take a bow now ladies!
{you know how chicks can be!}

Eggs....Not Just for Breakfast!

Can you believe that Easter is almost here?
Today we thought we'd share two of our favorite ways
to showcase those Eggs....

Putting them on pedestals are by far the cutest way!
Vintage or new reproduction
vases make great egg stands.

Use candlestick holders as well -
use these egg stands as decorations on a side table or shelf.
You could also get a bunch of them,
in different heights and put them down the table!

Dress them up a bit with some decorative papers
or fabrics to add a punch of color!

This egg pedestal makes a great table favor as well -
here we used a miniature clay pot.
We've also used vintage  jello cups as well!
Head out into the yard and get a bit of grass
and sit the egg in the grass.
So cute
& you'll be looking ready for Easter in minutes!

Now....what to have for breakfast!!
Happy Monday everyone!

Happy Easter!
Today we spotted some soft shadows
on our new butterfly paperweights.
Flutter on over to Hey Harriet to find more lovely shadows from around the world!

of your belief in injustice and tragedy.

Eggs-traordinaire Eggs

It's crunch time...time to get those Easter Eggs decorated!
Last year we made these eggs right before Easter, and never had a chance to post...so enjoy!

We used Duck eggs, because we read that the shell was harder and would stand up to the pressure of polking a hole in them, and getting the yolk out....some eggs didn't fare so well!

We photo copied some images that we had around the house and cut them into ovals to mod podge onto the eggs.

Ribbons
and Markers
to decorate the eggs with

We liked
how they turned out...in fact we had every intention in getting more done this year....maybe next!!

Oh, Where Do You Gather Your Eggs?

We went on an egg hunt today...
and found some of the places that we have stuffed eggs in the store

We began to wonder.....
Where do you put your eggs for Easter decorating?

Once you start placing eggs, you sure do find a lot of spots to put them!

The next question would be...
Do you have enough eggs to go around in those clever places?

So tell us...
Where do you gather your eggs?
