Nesting & Gnats

Out and about this weekend

we were looking at all of our spring flowers

and found this up on the old windmill nextled in our lilac bush

Can you even imagine

making a nest....with a beak!

A little miracle indeed!

It will be interesting to see if we have any tennants this spring!

One thing that we have a lot of this spring

is plenty of spring flowers....

The myrtle is out and blooming

{crazy that it's doing this so early!}

Even our glads are popping up!

Hyacinths have been in bloom for a week....

and the daffodils are so pretty to look at...

until you start to look close...

then you see them....

GNATS!

Drat those Gnats!

This is such a cool picture...but with nats!

Of course, you have to think that this one is pretty cool,

you can see the gnats flying ~ lol!

Got to look at the good in everything...right?

Topiary Shadows

 Last night when we were closing the shop

we were greeted with this shadow

Shadows from our topiary were spilling onto the pavement

 It's Spring ~ an early one ~ here in Ohio

and we are enjoying every minute!

Time to Plant Your Baskets!!

We opened our email this morning to this picture from Terrain.

Isn't it the most gorgeous Easter Basket?!!

*sigh*

It reminded us that we needed to plant the grass

in the kiddo's Easter baskets....

Basket

check!

Soil

check!

Wheatgrass....

Wheatgrass all over the floor

check!

{I might add that kids are not helping with this project at the moment!!}

Into the baskets

check!

We added a bow on this basket.....

but you can do what you like!

Just water & watch your Easter grass

grow!

oh.....and back to this....

Now that we're done with the kiddo's baskets ~ we're so going to make this!

We're going to plant the grass

 then add some spring bulbs that haven't bloomed yet....

{digging them up from outside!}

then....in two weeks,

 when the grass has grown,

 we'll add the nest, eggs & birds

You've got to love Spring!

Love Affair with a Bowl

Last Saturday

I made a "quick run through"

of one of our favorite little antique stores.

I wasn't seeing anything...then

A BOWL

stopped me in my tracks

Oh...I had seen one similar before,

but didn't want to bother ordering it

at that moment....

So I snatched it up

and proudly carried it up to the desk

to get it so I could get home

When I got home I got supper around

and lovingly washed that silly bowl

and filled it up with some roasted potatoes

After cleaning up supper & washing the bowl,

I tucked it into the cupboard and went to bed

The last thing I remember before falling asleep

was that silly bowl

& just how happy it made me to look at it!

Since then, it's served fruit on Sunday

and Rolls last night...

You could say

I'm totally in love

with this bowl!
