Creepy Cool.....

We just love these Bethany Lowe 

Halloween Boards!

So....

what's the story behind these 

creepy characters?

They are figures taken from 

calendars taken from 

The Antikamnia Chemical Company

The skeletons were created from  1897-1901 

by Louis Crucius

who was a physician as well as an artist.

The Antikamnia company used these calenders 

to promote their drug "Acetanilide"

it was sold claiming to treat

pain, nervousness &  blues

Acetanilide 

worked wonderfully....

but you'd go blue after taking it,

 for it prevented red blood cells

 from releasing oxygen to your tissues!

shhhhhh!

Maybe that's what this skeleton is trying to say!

Well...thankfully 

Acentanilide isn't around today...

but these great drawings still are!

We don't know about you ~ but we'd think we'd run!

the new velvet birdies

 that came into the store today... 

and yes,

they are typical Bethany Lowe

  adorable!!

They were quite the "hot" seller last year....

so we had to get them in again...in more colors, of course!

Pillow Toss

Isn't it grand to decorate for Christmas?

{Neither of us have had a chance to get our own decorations out yet

because we've been so busy at the store!} 

One of our favorite things to do

is to switch out some of our throw pillows in our house

 for some Christmas pillows!

Here are some of our new ones we have in the store....

We love mixing these vintage inspired pillows

with our quilted holly and striped pillow...

it makes a nice mix!

It's Archaeology, My Dear!

Back in the day....

 I thought it would be great fun to be an archaeologist....

 

Uncovering a bunch of artifacts...
now THAT was the career for me.

Well,
 it wasn't.
But I'm incredibly happy to be in
a field that is similar to the Archaeologist...

and that is
a ShopOwner-Ologist

THIS

is my tool of choice

That helps me discover

new boxes....

never seen by our customers before!

I also use this tool to

UNCOVER

new and exciting things....

But then there's times,

that I leave my trusty tool on the counter...

to use my hands.....

I Can't tell you

JUST

how much

satisfaction

goes into a job like this!

 

Although...there

CAN

be a lot of drama

that you have to deal with!!

Gone to the Birds

A new flock of accessories

has landed in the store this week!

Birds on crackled balls with plenty of

moss & chippy detail

Velvet birds

yes....Velvet!

forget Velvet Elvis....we've got birds

wella wella wella....

there's no sideburns on our Velvet birds,

only a sweet little velvet flower

(They are chirp-free too, by the way...

very polite & quiet birds are only sold here!)

Then we have these pretty bird cloches

We love the patina on these!

That will give you something
