Take a Leap!

A leap for joy!
Spring is near....
and we are:
1. Done with inventory
(yippeee!! ooops, our accountat just fell off of her chair....you ok Jodi?)
2. Opening up the beginning of a lot of boxes
of new merchandise for the store
3. Putting spring pots out

4. We made these delicious
Banana Muffins with Cream Cheese Kisses

(so now we're leaping to burn off these delicious concoctions!)

Sprinkled with cinnamon & sugar....
oooooohh baby!

Love this picture....
love the sugar mixture sticking along the sides!

You didn't think we'd not show you the inside did you??

Banana Muffins with Cream Cheese Kisses
Yield: 12 regular size muffins
Ingredients

Muffins:
1/3 c. butter
1-1/2 c. mashed banana (about 3 large bananas)
3/4 c. sugar
1 egg, slightly beaten
1-1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. kosher salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. cinnamon

Cream cheese kisses:
8 oz. cream cheese, at room temperature
1/2 c. unsalted butter, at room temperature
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. powdered sugar, sifted
1 tsp. cinnamon
2 T. sugar

Preheat oven to 375°. Spray muffin tin with cooking spray and set aside.
Melt the butter and let it sit to cool while you measure the rest of the ingredients.
In a large bowl, mash bananas thoroughly. Add sugar and egg. Stir to combine.
In a medium bowl, sift together the flour, salt, baking soda, baking powder, and cinnamon. Add these dry ingredients and the melted butter to the banana mixture and mix lightly. Divide batter evenly between the 12 muffin cups and bake for 18 to 20 minutes, or until nicely golden at the edges and just set in the center. Let muffins rest in pan for a minute, then remove to a wire rack to cool completely.

Using an electric mixer, beat together the cream cheese and butter until light and fluffy. Add vanilla and beat just to combine. Add sifted powdered sugar and beat until smooth. Place mixture in a piping bag and pipe cream cheese "kisses" onto the top of each muffin. In a small bowl, stir together the cinnamon and sugar, then sprinkle onto the top of each kiss.

Yep, you'd better start leaping...
you're going to love these!!

Happy Leap Day!

Shadows are Blooming

As you can see,
our hyacinth is happy to show it's shadows today
We started this bulb in November
in one of our bulb vases.

It sure chases
 a grey winter day away!

Join us for some shadow fun
as we see what other shadows
are bloomin' around the world this weekend!

A Bird of a Different Feather

Look what we came across last week....

 A cool
 kitsch bird!

With long draping feathers

It's in really good shape...
just a lot of crazing that gives it loads of character!

This is our favorite part....
just look at those scrolls!

It looks to have a number of some sort
700 or 760

There is some sort of stamping on the bottom,
but it is really hard to see.

Nice manicure!

and these huge plumes on it's head!

Here is some of the detail of it's raised foot.

Proud as a Peacock....
Yet Posing like a Flamingo!

We'll just say
that he's a
very stylized
Flamingo....

Is that OK
fella?

We're not quite sure what flock you came from...
but we like you just the same!

PPO

Time to admit....
I'm guilty of being a PPO
Project-Putter-Offer!

While Organizing the Linen Closet last week
I found these....

Scented Drawer Liners
Who knows HOW long
they've been in there!

And,
they almost went back
(I justified NOT putting them in the Goodwill pile
because I would EVENTUALLY get to this project!)
I stopped myself
 and declared that
if it wasn't going to be done
 that moment,
they would have to be put in that Goodwill bag....
so....
I stopped everything
and went to my dresser!

Took everything out

Unwrapped
 all of the 6 sheets
of vanilla scented papers

Put them in the drawers
and cut them to fit.....

Voila!
Pretty, scented papers
for my dresser!
ha ~ a project completed!

I then thought it would be nice to paper other dressers
and so I found this link to make your own scented papers!

As I walked through the hallway
to find some unused wrapping paper,
 I saw that linen closet....
"oh yea..."

Now I am guilty of being a
MPG
(Multiple Project Girl)

Oh boy...
I don't know
if I'll ever break away from that one!

What about you?
PPO or MPG
How do you curb your "downfalls?!!"
