Women's Day of Shopping

Sunday we were over at The Gordon Design Gallery in Perrysburg for the 2nd annual
Women's Day of Shopping

We brought Marlene with us wearing her sassy apron & Santa hat to get everyone in the mood for Christmas.

Here's our display as you walked into the gallery. We featured lots of our cookbooks & Christmas decorations. As well as our Exclusive Summer Kitchen Tea.

In our second section, we feature more Christmas items and Catherine's new scones that she created for us. Apple Pecan, Pumpkin Butterscotch and Pumpkin Chocolate Chai.....they were such a hit - there wasn't any samples left to take a picture of!

Our neighbors were Kitchen Tools & Skills from Perrysburg. They offer cooking classes & lots of kitchen gadgets.

Then we had Aficionada Wine & Cigars on the other side of us.

Our favorite stop was South Paw Studios. The Summer Kitchen Girls fell in love with Katy Mims' jewelry...and guess what? You can too - she's got an etsy site - so please go over and see her!

Katy comes from a very talented family.....her dad is Homer J. Yarrito and he creates the most beautiful glass sculptures. He also has his art for sale in the Toledo Museum of Art.

Look here...it's our friend Todd from Beeker's General Store...hello Todd!

In case you didn't know.....Beeker's was featured in Victoria magazine a few years back!

Todd was a lucky guy - not only did he get to spend the day with The Summer Kitchen girls....he was set up beside Chef Marissa...mmmmm!

Chef Marissa made these fantastic cold pork tenderloin sandwiches with a caramelized onion & apple butter sauce...maybe it was a chutney...whatever it was - it was yummy! We took all the recipes that they had out, but they didn't have one out for this...however, we did find one for these....

Sesame Skewered Beef Appetizers

Marinade:
1/4 cup soy sauce
2 tablespoon sesame oil
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
1 tablespoon minced garlic
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon dried red pepper flakes

8 ounces beef sirloin or rib steak, cut in 1-inch cubes
24 button mushrooms
1 large yellow or orange bell pepper, cored, seeded and cut into 1-inch pieces
1 tablespoons sesame seed, toasted

In a medium-sized bowl, stir all the marinade ingredients together. Add the cubed beef and the mushrooms; toss to coat, and let stand, covered, at room temperature for 1 hour.
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Lightly grease a baking sheet. Thread each skewer with one piece of bell pepper, on beef cube and one mushroom. Dip one sided of each skewer in the sesame seeds. Arrange on prepared baking sheet and bake until sizzling, approximately 5 minutes. Serve immediately.

What a fun appetizer to make during the holidays!
