A table-scape - landscaping for the table - that's what we like to do! Making a display so pretty, it is full of interesting things to look at for your guests, and more importantly - YOU!
Draw the eye to the table scape with varying heights of your objects. The lamp is the tallest object on the table, followed by the plant. The shell is put on old family books to give it more height, so that
1. The shell is featured more
2. The books incorporates family heirlooms in the display
3. Together, the books and the shell break the space - so that you don't see a long lamp base and a long plant base.
Then put something really unexpected in the mix - you see the little turtle, then you get to the table, and look...hey! There's coral under the magnifying glass. Not that you need coral, you could use pictures - anything that is special to you.
It just so happens that these coral were picked up on the last vacation and can bring memories back of all the fun had.
It's always fun to have something that brings back memories or that will create a conversation in your room - don't forget to make it personal!

Hi Karla & Karrie!
Love your post! Beautiful example of a tablescape. You are very good at guiding a person for that perfect look.
Oh I'm so jealous! I LOVE the Longerberger Homestead!! If I didn't have to work Monday I would drive up there to meet you girls. I think the tea room there is the most beautiful I've ever been to. I did some googling and found this website, http://teaguide.net/tearoomsohio.htm and they list all the tearooms in Ohio. I have been to the Painted Lady when it was in Marysville but it's now in Powell. I have also been to one in Lancaster, Annie's Cheesecake & Tea Room 161 W Main St Lancaster, Oh 740-654-3692. It's in an old large building and they've done their best to give it a tea room look. But the food is wonderful! Chicken salad awesome! And the cheesecakes are out of this world!! It's a tearoom you don't go away hungry, that's for sure. There are antique places and the Old Shoe Factory Antique Mall. So if you ever need an outing location Lancaster, Ohio is a good place.
Have a wonderful time on your outing!! Hugs, Sherry
What a beautiful tablescape. Love how you arranged everything, and I especially love your lamp!

One of my favorite places in my house is my book shelf in my living room. I was cleaning out my closet a few years ago and had a ton of books in there. I decided I needed a book shelf and went hunting at an antique store. I knew I'd "know it" when I saw it and there she was. An old barn cupboard used for tools. It has 20 spaces for books. It's old and beautiful and on top I have just what you're talking about. Unique things that catch the eye.
Thanks for visiting my blog and leaving such a sweet comment.
God is so good and I just need to keep trusting Him with my girl!
