Apple-rific!

'Tis the season for apples - so you need to make yourself some yummy Apple Butter! Was that a groan we heard??? Have no fear - this recipe will make your home smell so apple-y and cinnamon-y good and you cook it in a crock pot...now we're talkin'!!


SLOW COOKER APPLE BUTTER

12 Cooking apples, peeled, cored, sliced
2 cups sugar
1 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
1/2 teaspoon ground allspice

Place apples in a 6 quart slow cooker.
Stir in sugar and spices.
Cover and cook on high for four hours, then stir.
Uncover and cook on high 2 hours more until apples are tender and liquid is evaporated.
Chill overnight.
Put in 1/2 pint freezer containers.

I love apple butter and do want to make some before time gets away from me. The crock pot method makes it really easy.

Oh my that Apple-rific sounds so yummy!

Mom used to make apple butter "back in the day" oh I'd say 30 some years ago. And every time I hear abble butter I think of hers.

Now you've got me wanting to give it a try!
