A Tisket A Tasket....

A Blue & Yellow
Basket??

Soooo......we had some garden tools...
and we painted them...
then
MAGIC
started to happen!

We were trying to figure out just what to do with these
to show everyone
WHY
they needed them!

First we put a votive cup in them...
and of course a candle ~ how cute would that be sitting on your table...
a bunch of painted bulb planters
lighting up the dinner conversation!

THEN....we took one of our pretty floral pics
and sat it in the bulb planter
SUPER CUTE vase ~ truly loved this idea!

But the idea that won out for our display
was sticking some moss inside the cup
and putting some sweet eggs inside!

Both of of our bulb planter sold during Open House this weekend...
I think we'll be on the look out for more...
how about you?

Keep Creating!!

The Desk Set

One of the first things that you see when you walk into our store this week
is this little display....

Many times people come in wanting a desk...
and LOVE the tables that we have
but want more storage....

so we found a solution to the problem...
added two smaller nightstands on either side....

For plenty of storage
AND an adorable...one of a kind
Desk Set!

Join us over for What's it Wednesday
for more great vintage decorating ideas!!

The Desk Set

Talking about this desk set makes us think of
Katherine Hepburn and Spencer Tracy...
Have you ever seen it?
The computer against good old humans...
only as Hepburn and Tracy could do it :)

Stackable Spout!

We are sooooo guilty!
We have too many bracelets

{gosh we hope our husbands don't hear this ~ lol!}

But what is a girl to do when she needs more storage for her baubles?

She makes do...
and does she EVER!

Stacking those bracelets on a silver coffee pot spout...
well, we think it's pretty brilliant if we do say so ourselves!

{did we mention we are guilty of too much silver as well??}

Join us over on Ivy & Elephants
for What's it Wednesday!
where Paula & Patti take a look
at some of the greatest American ingenuity....
as well as more clever ideas for decorating and cooking!

No Drawer? No Problem!!

Sometimes you find a treasure and it isn't what you want....

This adorable table didn't come with a drawer
so we thought we'd put a false front on it...
and then we had another idea!

It became a perfect place for a guest towel!

Enjoy your weekend everyone...
and may all your treasures be keepers ;)

{Hob} Knob

hobnob:
verb
"to mingle, usually with the upper class of society."

We can't really say that these knobs are snooty...
hanging out in the upper class societies....

But what they are is mingling....
definitely mingling with the right vintage drawers!

Using vintage door knobs for furniture....brilliant!!

When we saw this we knew we'd have to share it for

Go on now...
see what else you can be inspired by!!

Chalkin' it Up!

Outside of the store
we have a little table that has its top painted
with chalkboard paint

It keeps our little visitors very happy!
Now, yesterday we had quite the creative young lady
come to the store with her mother.

This is what we found.....

Take a closer look from the other side...
Maybe we should say
"Come and get it!!"

for we seem to have mashed potatoes, gravy, a chicken leg
and some delicious veggies...
a drink, a piece of pie, silverware, napkins...
and boy do we love the candles....completing the mood!

What a dinner!

You might want to think about
Chalkin'
something of yours up for lots of entertainment!

Chandelier Transformation

Take one chandelier
from Good Will

Take out electrical cords & the bulbs and candles
then tape it off and spray paint it white....

awww....looking much better!

Put the lighting housing back on...

Looking Good!

Add some ribbon to hang and some votives in the sockets....

So very happy that we
took a chance
and brought that ugly chandelier home!

Lovely!

Howdy Hey!

We love this little guy
plus
he holds those pens
that are always so hard to find!

Unfortunatly he looks lonely...

So...Howdy Hey!
We're in a grand mood today, as we are
grabbing mom & our good buddy
as we travel to our favorite antique shops
and search for as many things as we can find
or fit in the trunk ~ lol!

and yes, maybe we'll find our little guy a gal to give those flowers to!

Ah-choo!

This is by far one of our favorite ideas!
Throw those ugly tissue boxes away ~
just take the tissues out and put them into your favorite pitcher..
An idea that is
nothing to sneeze at!
(you knew we'd go there!)

[RED] Bird is the Word

A present!
To: me
From: me!
For quite some months, I've been admiring pillows from
This is the first pillow that I needed to have....

mmmmmm......this will be perfect on my porch....not that the porch is quite ready for it at the moment (I need to finish painting the furniture & the cushions are almost all done!), but give me two more weeks & this pillow will be setting pretty on the settee!

This is the second pillow that I needed....well, I didn't need it, but my son's room needed it! He's got that Army theme going on...and what better to pull it together, than to put a Swiss army blanket pillow on it?!!

I just love my Red Bird Vintage Home pillows...
I love details that Kay puts into every one of her pillows.
Of course, I think its great that she repurposes things to make such delightful things.
Thank you Kay!
Keep on making those fabulous pillows!
