Frightfully Fun Retro!

Do you miss the old pumpkin heads
kiddo's carried to collect candy?

I have to admit...when the kids come trick-or-treating
I really miss seeing these.....

This lovely jack-o-lantern
was a great find....and we were lucky
the light still worked!

ahhh....the good ol' days!!

I don't know that there are real ghosts and goblins,
but there are always more trick-or-treaters
 than neighborhood kids.

Wednesday Words & Peach Ice Cream!

Isn't THAT the truth!!!
But....it is my fault I guess...I can't help myself from cooking ~ lol!

Did you know that today is
 Peach Ice Cream Day....
and
that means a messy kitchen!

But...it's
ICE CREAM
and it's
HOT out

so, bring on the
mess!!

Here's one of our favorite summertime recipes:
Peach Ice Cream
from Southern Living for you to try....

What you'll need:

4 cups peeled, diced fresh peaches
 {about 8 small, ripe peaches should do!}
1 cup sugar
1 - 12oz can sweetened condensed milk
4 cups half & half

Combine peaches and sugar and let sit 1 hour...mmmm!!
{Try to keep kids fingers out of this ~ lol!!}

Put the peach mixture into a food processor until smooth

Stir together evaporated milk and pudding in a large bowl
Stir in the peach puree, condensed milk and half & half.

Pour mixture into freezer container of a 4 quart electric freezer
according to manufacturer's instructions.
Spoon into an airtight container, and freeze until firm.

Enjoy!!

It's a Burlap Wrap!

 We just acquired
 this adorable child's chair
 in the store...

 however...
the seat is
not
that
adorable!

Great Bones though....

 Well....we just happened
to have some
burlap

and opted to cut some strips

then we started stapling it on the back of the seat

and went all the way across

While we are on the backside...
we had to show you this

 Don't you just love
how Jeffery signed his chair???

We frayed the edges a bit and just wrapped it
around to the other side and stapled it

Then we took two other strips and went the
opposite way just to add some interest....

Making a sweet seat!

Fun texture & perfect color for the chair

 Ready for another name
to be written on it!!

Suits Me!

You've got to love old suitcases!!

It's always so much fun when you open them up
and find an adorable pattern like the top suitcase!

We also love finding ones with initials on them!

We LOVE the handles on this particular suitcase....

.....and the locks!

Just tooo cute!

Suitcases are just so fun to collect....

Hope your Monday
stacks up like you want it too!!

Button It Up....and onto Your Finger!!

Inspired
by our Victorian Button Ring class
we had a few weeks ago....

We made some to sell in the store!

We had found some great Victorian buttons

then added another button for the backing
{sometimes two!}
from our big jar of vintage buttons we've collected.

Then we glued them onto some adjustable shanks

 Button Rings
that are one of a kind....
just like you!

It was a fun project...
if you have some buttons you love
we suggest making your own button ring
so that you can show it off!!
