Picture this Trick.....

Sometimes
you have a picture that needs
to be bigger or have more substance
on the wall you want to put it on....

Hence,
We have this story of this
little itty-bitty picture
that mother had to have....

It was super tiny on such a big wall...

so, we improvised!
Mom found this frame that filled the bill of
Big & Chunky....

We measured the opening and then
we called our dear
friend and faux finish master Jill
and she painted this lovely rectangle on the wall:

After it dried we hung that picture right up....

and then the frame....

Making the picture the
PERFECT
size for the wall....

and most important
Making Mother

HAPPY.

You know the saying....
"if momma ain't happy........"
yep.

Creative Time!

Last weekend we worked on a quick project for mom.
She had a picture frame (that's been sitting empty for a year!)

She was going to put the grandkid's school pictures in them....
ohhhhh no, we could do much better than that mom!
(hence, this is why the frame was empty for a YEAR!)

The hardest part...
taking silhouette pictures of the kids - ha!

Tracing their pictures and cutting it out of the black cardstock - easy!

Taping them inside of the frame - easy!

We didn't even need the easy button for this project!
An adorable frame, with distinctive silhouettes of the grandkids....
Wiping off the fingerprints...ahhh, yes...that's better

A project that makes a mom smile

A Work of Art...or A Piece of Work!

No one loves me
They hardly know I'm here

What's a dog to do?

Two weeks ago I contacted our fellow blogger Donna
of Mourning Dove Cottage

From the first time we found her blog, we were smitten with her dog portraits

So...I sent her a picture of Calamity
and had her paint a picture of her...
See Calamity, we do love you!
Thank you Donna for making this "piece of work" a work of art!
{To see more of Donna's art...visit her here!}
