Gobble up the Shadows!

May your stuffing be tasty
May your turkey plump,
May your potatoes and gravy
have nary a lump.
May your yams be delicious
and your pies take the prize,
and may your Thanksgiving dinner
stay off your thighs!

-- Author Unknown

We found this poem a couple of months ago...
and just rolled with laughter - hope it puts a
bit of fun in your day!
With Thanksgiving just around the corner
here in the states, we took this shot of one of our
paper mache turkey as he was lurking
in the shadows....we will say that he looks a bit menacing...
don't you think?

It's Shadow Shot Sunday
& we'd love you to join us
as we travel all around the world to see shadows galore....
you will truly "gobble" them up one right after another
because they are all so darn creative!
So, head on over to Hey Harriet...
where we are always so Thankful
to have a place to share our "dark" sides!!

Love the turkey and the poem!

I make the mashed potatoes, and do not mind a lump or two (I leave the skins on a few potatoes for that rustic texture). The gravy, I am working hard to keep the lumps out (using a whisk and Wondra flour), with a hint of Gravy Master. Of course, we need to lose weight - but not this week!

I like your turkey shadows, and the poem. The only thing I would say is, my thighs are fine, it's the belly that catches the pie!

Thighs. Waist. Face. Yep. It all goes there and there and there! Ah, but what pleasure there is in such bounty of food!
I say, feast today and moderation tomorrow.

A cool turkey and I love that poem! I hadn't heard it before & it made me giggle!

PS - I'm not sure what yams are except something Popeye likes to say "I yam what I yam" (or something like that) ...perhaps yams are known as something different here in Australia. I must look it up!

Hope you girls enjoy the rest of your weekend. I'm terribly hungry now!

Great poem! Thanks for the laugh. Your lurking turkey reminds me of the little antique ones my mom had on the table every year.
