Wednesday Words

"Seize the moment. Remember all those women on the Titanic who waved off the dessert cart."
-Erma Bombeck

Yep....Erma always had a way of saying things! Thanks for joining us for Wednesday Words....of course brought to you by our Wall Scape Words.

We also bring you a wonderful recipe for Pink Lozenges Cake....mmmmm....curious?

PINK LOZENGES CAKE
40 pink lozenges candies
1 cup milk
1/2 cup butter
1 cup sugar
3 cups flour
3 tablespoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
3 egg whites
3 tablespoons cold water

Place lozenges in bowl with milk. Cover & refrigerate overnight. This will make 1 1/4 cups liquid. The following day, preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour two round cake pans. Cream together butter and sugar; set aside. Sift together flour, baking powder and salt; set aside. In large bowl, beat egg whites and water until stiff. Add butter and sugar mixture to egg whites. Add one cup of the lozenges liquid, reserving 1/4 cup liquid for the icing. Gradually add flour mixture. Pour mixture into cake pans. Bake 45 minutes or until toothpick inserted in the middle of the cake comes out clean.

Icing: Add remaining 1/4 cup milk and lozenges liquid to your favorite white icing.

Wow...I didn't know you could make a cake out of those things! They were my favorite candy as a kid. I used to call them pepto-bismo candy. I always wanted them to take on family car trips:D

Hi Karla and Karrie - Thanks so much for stopping by my blog - You are the first "strangers" (I guess I mean people that I have not met in person) to leave me a comment. I was beyond excited! Please stop back. Oh, I am so intrigued by your cake recipe - have you actually made it?
