Let's Go Fly a Kite!

Last weekend we heard of a place in Perrysburg that had guys that flew kites after dark.....so this weekend we decided to go check them out.

The group goes out every Friday and Saturday night, weather permitting, and whoever comes can sit down in the chair to fly a kite. The kids have so much fun.....as well as the adults!! Now, this is the extremely cool part: They will make a kite for the kids....the only catch is that the kids have to memorize Psalm 1. After flying the kites, my kids couldn't wait to try to memorize this passage - now that school is out, I guess they have something to do (at least for this week!!) to try to get their own PS1 Kite.

When we got home - we found the article that was in the Toledo Blade about this group - they are the Perrysburg Night Flyers, and what they do is a great ministry for the area.

Psalm 1
BOOK I : Psalms 1-41
1 Blessed is the man
who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked
or stand in the way of sinners
or sit in the seat of mockers.
2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD,
and on his law he meditates day and night.

3 He is like a tree planted by streams of water,
which yields its fruit in season
and whose leaf does not wither.
Whatever he does prospers.

4 Not so the wicked!
They are like chaff
that the wind blows away.

5 Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment,
nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous.

6 For the LORD watches over the way of the righteous,
but the way of the wicked will perish.

Happy Sunday everyone!!

I bet that was really fun. I never even thought of flying kites at night. Looks like it was pretty too.

Hugs,
Joanne
