We are really looking forward to a great time and hope you are too!

This month we thought we'd start a new "Tea of the Month" program at the store. We will be choosing one tea to feature every month, and that tea would be $1 off the regular price. This month our feature tea is T,svp. This tea is a beautiful black tea that is the signature blend of the Tea, s'il vous plait line that we carry. With flavors of peach, almond, and orange, this full-bodied Ceylon based tea is truly delightful!! The T,svp is a loose tea, and will be priced at $5.90 this month. If you would like us to send the tea to you - just call us at 419.638.4205 and we will add on shipping costs, and get it out to you!!

Another month means.....we are having another contest! All during the month of May, sign up online, or in the store to win Victoria magazine's "The Art of Taking Tea" along with some of our T,svp tea. Best of luck to everyone!!

Last month's bucket of Caldrea cleaning supplies went to Ronnie Blue - yea!!!Congratulations Ronnie!

Last, but never least.....dessert! Here is a really lovely recipe for Lemon Tea Bread. The recipe itself is so sweetly typed and decorated, we just had to copy the whole thing for you all!

Lemon Tea Bread

1/2 cup butter, softened
1 cup sugar
2 large eggs
1 1/2 cup flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup milk
2 tablespoons grated lemon rind, divided
1 cup powdered sugar
2 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
1 tablespoon sugar

Beat softened butter at medium speed with an electric mixer until creamy, gradually add 1 cup sugar, beating until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating just until blended after each addition.

Stir together flour, baking powder and salt; add to butter mixture alternately with milk, beating at low speed just until blended, beginning and ending with flour mixture, stir in 1 tablespoon grated lemon rind. Spoon batter into a greased and floured 8x4 inch loaf pan.

Bake at 350 degrees for one hour or until a wooden pick inserted center of bread comes out clean. Let cool in pan 10 minutes. Remove bread from pan and cool completely on wire rack.

Stir together powdered sugar and lemon juice until smooth; spoon over tip of bread, letting excess drip down sides. Stir together remaining 1 tablespoon lemon rind and 1 tablespoon sugar; sprinkle on top of bread.

What a nice blog this is! The tea parties sound lovely. Plus it's always fun for me to run across other bloggers from Ohio (I'm in Cincinnati).

Just wanted to stop by and thank you for adding Hooked on Houses to your blogroll. I appreciate it! -Julia :-)
