Last weekend we were at the Ohio State Fair.
You haven't seen the fair, until you go see the butter sculpture and drink a fabulous milkshake from the Dairy Barn!
Every year, there's a new scene to wow everyone.....complete with some shadows - and some fun facts about the sculpture:
~This years display was made with 2,000 lbs of butter!
~It took 392 hours to create the display for this year.
~After the fair, the butter from the sculpture is recycled by Mt. Vernon Nazarene University
For more shadows, head on over to Hey Harriet
(where you don't need to butter up to bloggers - we just take you & your shadows as they are!!)

When we lived in Indonesia, the big hotels in Jakarta would sometimes have magnificent chocolate sculptures - which I would have been happy to 'recycle'!! Fun shadow shots!.
ReplyDeleteHow fun! And what fun shadows as well! Love your captures for the day! And I love state fairs, too! Hope you're enjoying a great weekend!

You are kidding! No way!!!
ReplyDeleteThe cow knows how to use its output for artistic endevours. Butter is a true accoutrement for its output, So a butter cow is expected...
ReplyDeleteI haven't been to Columbus in a quarter century, but the cow/calf in butter is wonderful - the best way to preserve the shelf life of milk is to make cheese or butter. So why not a sculpture??
That is really cool! Fair, fair food, its all so good! We live close(as in our back yard butts right up to the it)to the county fairgrounds, its one of our favorite times of the summer we come home and make funnel cakes. When we do take in a state fair we go to the Minnesota one.
ReplyDeletecute cows!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shots!

Very slick butter sculptures! I wonder how they did it and was it in a large walk in refrigerator?
ReplyDeleteAnd then, I can't help but wonder how they recycled it!!!
Great shots!
I've never seen butter sculptures before! And I'm wondering how it's recycled? Maybe it's best I don't know. You always manage to stumble upon such interesting stuff! Have a great week :)
ReplyDeleteThat is fantastic. I have never seen butter sculpture.
ReplyDeleteI'd like to be in on the recycling, too. Although it depends on how long that butter sits (stands?) around. The milk shakes sound good. I used to love the L.A. County Fair which was held in my hometown at the time, Pomona.
ReplyDeleteBarbara
Butter sculpture? Can I have some toast with that, please? Nomnom
ReplyDeleteA buttery cow and her buttery calf—
ReplyDeletenow that, my friend, is good for a laugh!

ReplyDeleteLaughing at MMT's witty poetry.
