While on vacation last week we visited this place...an art gallery? No, actually we were at The Kennedy Space Center in Florida. This was the most amazing shadow that I took {and believe me, I took a LOT of shadow pictures!}
These were casts of astronaut's hands. Each astronaut gets a full body cast, to form their suits to them. The hands are the most important cast, as the gloves are made specifically to fit each hand.
I couldn't help but hum that folk song...."Put Your Hand in the Hand" ~ was it from the 70's? Anyway, it was in my mind all day then!!
Enough said {or sung!}, let's give Tracy from Hey Harriet a great big HAND for hosting our favorite meme: Shadow Shot Sunday! Come on along and visit to see what kind of shadows are around this week....!
You girls did it this week! I absolutely love this shot! I wanted to thank you for getting me hooked on SSS, I enjoy it sooo much!

ReplyDeleteGreat shot--strange and kind of spooky.
ReplyDeleteGreat find!
ReplyDeleteI once found in a junk shop a whole set of hand models of various sizes, meant for making rubber gloves. I still regret not buying those, though I haven't a clue what I would have done with them.
Amazing, terrific shot! Different and very interesting I have to say!
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!

If you had said these were sculptures which had taken months to make, I would have believed you. It's a stunning shot - and you have taught us a little more about what goes into making up the life of an astronaut!
ReplyDeleteHow interesting, you can almost read their ages from the look of their hands.
ReplyDeleteLove the bed below, the good ol' days!
How cool is that shot!?! A great big hand to you for capturing it. Such an awesome shadowy image. Thanks also for including the background info. I'd be totally clueless otherwise and would never have guessed what it was all about. You sure visit some interesting places :)

ReplyDeleteI love this!!
Awesome! I want gloves made to fit MY hands - the pinkie finger and thumb is always too long, tempting me to attempt some tailoring. ;)

ReplyDeleteVery interesting shot - and now I will be singing that song for ages. Ah well - it was a goody.
